June
2009
Well it
looks like summer has finally arrived in Prince Edward Island.
It has been chaotic around the farm as per usual. We had about
25 lambs arrive (January/February) and got to work breeding
them all back in late April for lambs this fall.
As the snow melted, we were reminded that we need to get the
tarp pulled over the Coverall. Unfortunately, it is the middle
of June and we still don’t have the cover on but it is all in
the works. The ground is laid for the horse/sheep barn and the
post should be sunk within the next couple weeks.
So, along with 58 ewes due in October we have six mares bred
for 2010... I know we must be crazy, as if we don’t have
enough critters already. Here’s what we have cooking....

We are hoping for a fun-filled summer of cattle penning and
hoping to squeeze in the odd Miniature Horse show and maybe
even a gymkhana show.
My sister, Jessica, is here for the summer before she makes
her big move to Saskatoon, SK to start her Master’s/PhD
program. The girls are tickled pink to have her here and Glenn
and I are pretty happy to have a reliable penning partner!
Check back regularly to this page as I’ll be updating it with
new additions and current events here at the farm. |
